October 19 Update: New Security Features, Document Collaboration, and More

New security options are now available for all.
In September, we introduced additional security options for customers who submit documents for e-recording. These features are now available for administrators of county and Collaboration and Post Closing accounts as well.

This includes the ability to add two-factor authentication on login and additional security when retrieving passwords. Read more about these changes here.

New Collaboration and Post Closing Features

Settlement agents can now edit the closing date.
Settlement agents now have the ability to edit the closing date on the Loan Info page. Previously this option was restricted to the lender.

Documents can now be collaborated on.
All users can now collaborate on documents and placeholders. Use live chat for discussion and change requests for individual docs. Simplifile stores all versions uploaded and you can view the activity feed of all changes made.

Fees can now be locked once disclosure dates are added.
To prevent further collaboration once a Loan Estimate or Closing Disclosure has been disclosed, a lender can now lock fees so they can no longer be edited. To ensure a fee locks, simply select “Locked After Disclosure” under “Fee Collaboration Options” when adding a custom fee.
